Examines factors affecting attitudes toward laboratory chemistry. Subjects (N=1638) were grade 11 chemistry students in 78 schools in rural, suburban, and urban Oyo State, Nigeria. Data indicate that students' attitudes toward chemistry as a subject is the most important determinant of the attitude toward the laboratory. (JM)
