It can be concluded from the results of the two studies described here that value similarity between client and therapist is related to therapists' ratings of client improvement. This phenomenon can be expected in therapies irrespective of theoretical orientation. (Author)

Highly disturbed patients (N=75) were sent through the Silva Mind Control training to determine which patients might get into difficulty. Only one became appreciably more disturbed. The most consistent finding was a dramatic increase in reality testing, as determined clinically and on objective psychological testing. (Author)

This study suggests parents (N=66), teachers (N=77), and students (N=550) all seem to agree that student supervision and discipline are low priority counseling functions. The teachers' ratings of guidance attitude statements did not suggest that these additional responsibilities made counselors too busy to meet the other needs of their counselees.…
