Snyder, Douglas K.; Fruchtman, Lisa A. – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1981
Identifies different patterns of wife abuse, using a multivariate quantitative taxonomic procedure to delineate five homogeneous subgroups of abused women. Found that abuse occurs differentially in stable and unstable relationships, with differences in individual histories and responses of the victim to her assailant. (Author/JAC)

Braucht, G. Nicholas; And Others – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1978
Examined subgroups of people in relation to specific types of drugs. Multiple drug clusters identified here yielded six basic drug clusters. Typology of drug abusers was developed by proximity cluster analysis. Set of psychosocial measures was differentially related to use of types of drugs and drug abusers. (Author/BEF)

Donovan, Dennis M.; Marlatt, G. Alan – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1982
Investigated the empirical derivation of clinically and theoretically meaningful subtypes among males arrested for driving while intoxicated.
