A study is reported of the relationships between an abbreviated dogmatism scale, two dogmatism subscales, and perceptions of time. Among the conclusions, it was found that for men and women, dogmatism relates to anxiety about time, a reduction in the present's and future's importance, and an emphasis on the past. (Author)

The decision to return a man to combat duty was found to be related to biographical variables, and the nature of these relationships were found to have significant reliability. The data demonstrate the existence of a unified, negative cognitive content that is associated with depressed mood among normal subjects. Since cognition emerged as a more stable characteristic than affect, one might conjecture that the cognitive component is activated in--and perhaps triggers--the development of depressed mood. Using tape recorded psychotherapy sessions, three methods of assessing the quality of a psychotherapist's empathy were compared. One of the results was that the three scales were not measuring different qualities as the intercorrelations among the three empathy measures were virtually perfect when corrected for unreliability.
