Reviews the literature concerning the role of the American science educator in developing countries, pointing out the major difficulties facing science teachers in these countries, and how the American science educator can be of help. (GA)

Describes a quantitative hands-on approach for teaching science to elementary school teachers. Program materials have been presented to students in undergraduate elementary teacher education and to teachers in the Chicago metropolitan area.
