The purpose of this study was to investigate the usefulness of the Career Maturity Inventory (CMI) as a measure of vocational maturity. The findings indicate that scores on the CMI incrementally increase by grade level. However, the rate and level of this increase is influenced by sex, school, and curriculum effects. (Author)

The effects of a career group experience on the vocational maturity of theoretically grouped college freshmen and sophomores were investigated using Super's Career Development Inventory as the dependent measure. Studies the application of the monotonic criterion, i.e., career development proceeds in a continuous pattern. Systematic increases in scores on the Career Development Inventory are shown by high school students, but not by college students. Korman and Super differ in regarding vocational self-concept crystallization of high and low self-esteem persons. This was measured by the Tennessee Self-Concept Scale using undergraduate students.
