Courses: This paper presents a course design that aims to stimulate student ownership of learning. It was developed for a semester-long undergraduate course in political communication, but it is equally suitable for courses at graduate level and on other topics. Objectives: After completing this course, students will be able to: (1) define intended learning outcomes, (2) present academic content comprehensively and understandably, (3) employ active learning strategies, (4) create a learning session over 90 minutes, (5) work collaboratively, (6) critically discuss research and current political issues and (7) critically reflect on their own learning processes.
