Forty-five graduate students in special education were asked to rate the items in the violent and destructive behavior domain from part two of the AAMD (American Association of Mental Deficiencies) Adaptive Behavior Scale on a 1 (not very severe) to 4 (extremely severe) scale. (Author/PHR)

The Hand Test and the maladaptive behavior scale of the Adaptive Behavior Scale (ABS) were administered to 78 institutionalized mentally retarded. Significant correlations were found between two purported Hand Test indicators of destructive acting-out behavior and observed violent behavior. (MH)
