Interpersonal and Impersonal Problem-Solving Skills in Mildly and Clinically Depressed University Students.
Gotlib, Ian H.; Asarnow, Robert F.
Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, v47 n1 p86-95 Feb 1979
Students were administered the Beck Depression Inventory, the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, the Means-Ends Problem-Solving Procedure, and the anagram task used in investigating learned helplessness. Negative correlation was found between depression and interpersonal problem-solving ability. Only anxiety correlated with anagram performance. In interpersonal problem solving, nondepressed students performed better than depressed counselees. (Author/BEF)
