The Beck Depression Inventory was administered to 33 mothers with a history of mild intellectual disability and 97 contrast group mothers. Mothers with intellectual disability scored significantly higher on the inventory and three times as many scored above a cutoff score considered to be indicative of depression. There were also differences in patterns of symptomatology. (Author/DB)
