The exploratory data analysis method of median polishing was used to examine patterns of differences in male and female performance on the Graduate Record Examination quantitative and analytical tests. Data about how graduate departments use the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE), what scores are required, and how these admission policies are associated with the quality of graduate programs are analyzed.
