Swanson, H. Lee; And Others – Journal of Special Education, 1989
The factor structure of the Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children was evaluated with 169 gifted students, aged 6-10. Results tentatively suggested that the factor solution for gifted students is dissimilar to that for the standardization sample, as subtests designed to assess sequential processing did not all load together, nor did those…

Bain, Sherry K. – Journal of Special Education, 1993
Analysis of Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children (K-ABC) Sequential and Simultaneous Processing scores of 94 children (ages 6-12) with learning disabilities produced factor patterns generally supportive of the traditional K-ABC Mental Processing structure with the exception of Spatial Memory. The sample exhibited relative processing strengths…

Majovski, Lawrence V. – Journal of Special Education, 1984
The article examines the Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children as it applies to the assessment of childhood information processing strategies. Specific areas of discussion are: theoretical and research foundations at to its construct validity; usefulness in evaluating normal neuropsychological development; and its role in clinical research and…

Keith, Timothy Z.; Dunbar, Stephen B. – Journal of Special Education, 1984
Data from the standardized sample were used to test alternate structures for the Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children, based on the hypothesis that the test measures verbal memory skills and verbal and nonverbal reasoning. Results suggest that the models fit the data fairly well, supporting the alternate structure's validity. (Author/CL)

Kaufman, Alan S. – Journal of Special Education, 1984
A response to 13 articles on the Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children address seven areas: validity, theory underlying the intelligence portion, role of the clinicians in intellectual assessment, distinction between ability and achievement, evaluation of alternate models, remedial applications of the sequential-simultaneous processing…

Glutting, Joseph J.; And Others – Journal of Special Education, 1992
Three studies examined subtest profiles of the Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children: the first developed a normative taxonomy of subtest patterns using cluster analysis; the second compared subtest patterns of children with various disabilities; and the third used core patterns to identify children with unusual patterns. Results opposed the…
