The study found that the Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children (K-ABC) was valid in predicting reading, mathematics, and written expression for Black, Hispanic, and White male students referred for special education services. Data from the standardized sample were used to test alternate structures for the Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children, based on the hypothesis that the test measures verbal memory skills and verbal and nonverbal reasoning.
