Holmes, Cooper B.; And Others – Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1984

Otto, Randy K,; And Others – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1988
Evaluated alcohol-dependent inpatients and nonalcoholic controls on the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) twice: once under instructions to answer honestly, and once under dissimulation instructions. Hays, Ron; Stacy, Alan – Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1983
Critiqued and reanalyzed a recent study of the validity of five Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) alcoholism scales. The original study concluded that these scales were invalid in terms of classifying patients in regard to alcoholic status. Reanalysis provides evidence for the validity of four of the five scales. Snyder, Douglas K.; And Others – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1985
Examined the differential predictive accuracy of seven Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory alcoholism scales and two drug abuse scales across both sex and race in sample of 171 alcoholic inpatients. Demonstrated considerable variance among these scales' ability to predict alcohol and other drug use, expectancies, and consequences.…

Risberg, Richard A.; And Others – Journal of Child and Adolescent Substance Abuse, 1995
Tests validity of the Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory (SASSI) in detecting chemical dependency in adolescents (n=107), when compared to the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) results. Further validation for the SASSI was obtained. Treatment implications and suggestions for further research are provided. (SNR)

Gaines, Lawrence S.; And Others – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1974
The correspondence between the Minnesota MMPI and the Mini-Mult in terms of similar clinical decisions has been examined in several recent reports. The purpose of the present study was to extend the comparative data between the Mini-Mult and the standard MMPI to include two samples of alcoholics. (Author)

Clopton, James R.; Klein, Gary L. – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1978
Scores of specialized Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) scales (the Prejudice scale, the Ego-Strength scale, and the MacAndrew Alcoholism scale) were related to the scores of the standard MMPI scales. However, individual scores of the three specialized scales could not be accurately predicted from the standard scales. (Author/BEF)

Holmes, Cooper B.; And Others – Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1982
Assessed five alcoholism scales derived from the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory for their ability to classify accurately alcoholics and non-alcoholic psychiatric patients. The alcoholic group was divided into self-committed and court-committed. Depending on how the data were treated, found only one, or none of the scales accurate.…
