Four national transcript data sets were analyzed to determine the following: vocational education participation of high school graduates declined 1982-1992, academic participation increased, vocational credits completed fell by one-third, and fewer advanced vocational courses were completed. Reliability, validity, and cost effectiveness of using transcript data were demonstrated. (SK)
