Bastianello, Tamara; Brondino, Margherita; Persici, Valentina; Majorano, Marinella – Journal of Research in Childhood Education, 2023
The present contribution aims at presenting an assessment tool (i.e., the TALK-assessment) built to evaluate the language development and school readiness of Italian preschoolers before they enter primary school, and its predictive validity for the children's reading and writing skills at the end of the first year of primary school. Edyburn, Kelly L.; Quirk, Matthew; Felix, Erika; Swami, Sruthi; Goldstein, Ariel; Terzieva, Antoniya; Scheller, Jennifer – Literacy Research and Instruction, 2017
This study examined the relative contributions of Latino/a children's (N = 102) school readiness and early literacy skills during kindergarten in predicting first grade reading achievement. Coleman, Marilyn; And Others – Psychology in the Schools, 1980
The mean IQ on the Slosson Intelligence Test (SIT) was substantially higher than expected based on the earlier Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test (PPVT) scores. Sampling error and examiner error were excluded as explanations. Results suggest that the PPVT and SIT yield different scores and lack comparability. (Author)

Dean, Raymond S. – Journal of School Psychology, 1980
The validity and reliability of the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test was estimated with emotionally disturbed adolescents. Results indicated that the power of the test to predict future achievement of emotionally disturbed adolescents is comparable to that expected for normals. (Author)

Beck, Frances Wi; And Others – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1985
The Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test Revised (PPVT-R) and the Comprehensive Tests of Basic Skills (CTBS) (reading, mathematics, and language subtests) were administered to 61 elementary school students in semi-rural Louisiana. Moderate positive correlations were found between PPVT-R scores and all CTBS subtests except mathematics computation. (GDC)

Prasse, David P.; Bracken, Bruce A. – Psychology in the Schools, 1981
Significant differences were found between the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test-Revised mean standard scores and Verbal, Performance, and Full Scale IQs. The PPVT-R did not correlate significantly with the WISC-R scales or subtests, suggesting the tests are measuring different abilities. (Author)

Flynn, Timothy M. – 1975
The predictive validity of the Slosson Intelligence Test, Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test, Goodenough-Harris Drawing Test, Developmental Test of Visual Motor Integration, and the Metropolitan Readiness Test was evaluated for use with kindergarten children.
