Bustamante, Andres S.; Greenfield, Daryl B. – Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development, 2019
Currently, the most widely used direct assessment of motivation orientation for preschoolers has little to no research on its reliability and validity. This study examined the test-retest reliability and concurrent and predictive validity of this direct assessment. Results highlight potential limitations of this measure in capturing motivation…

Wheldall, Kevin; McMurtry, Sarah – Australian Journal of Learning Difficulties, 2014
The Test of Everyday Reading Comprehension (TERC) has recently been presented as an addition to the armoury of tests available for assessing the skills of low-progress readers. The study examined correlations between the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised (WISC-R), the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test-Revised (PPVT-R), and the Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children (K-ABC) for 44 learning disabled primary and intermediate special class students. Hunter, Maxwell W.; And Others – Diagnostique, 1992
Scores of 66 elementary students (referred for poor learning progress) on the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test-Revised (PPVT-R) were below mean performance on all Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scale-Fourth Edition (SB:FE) area scores except memory. The study refutes the assertion that the PPVT-R is an appropriate screening instrument for the SB:FE.…

Sattler, Jerome M.; And Others – Psychology in the Schools, 1980
Results show that Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test (PPVT) IQs are not interchangeable with Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised (WISC-R) IQs in a sample of reading disabled children. The PPVT yielded higher IQs on the average than did the WISC-R, supporting results obtained with learning disabled students. (Author/BEF)

Telegdy, Gabriel A. – Psychology in the Schools, 1976
The Screening Test of Academic Readiness (STAR) and the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test (PPVT) were administered to 52 kindergarten children to reveal the convergent validity of IQ scores derived from the STAR. The findings raise doubts about the validity of the deviation IQs derived from the STAR. (Author)

Hodapp, Albert F.; Hodapp, Joan B. – Psychology in the Schools, 1980
PPVT and WISC-R scores were compared for students ranging in age from 6 to 16. In descending order, Pearson product correlations ranked best for the total sample, emotionally disabled, regular class, mentally retarded, and learning disabled. The PPCT overestimated ability. (Author)

Worthing, Ralph J.; And Others – Psychology in the Schools, 1984
Examined the concurrent validity of the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test-Revised (PPVT-R) and the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised (WISC-R) in a sample of 101 students aged 6 to 16, referred for learning, mental or emotional disabilities. Results showed significant correlations between the PPVT-R and the WISC-R overall sample. (JAC)

Thirty-six children, aged four-five, completed four vocabulary measures: Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test-Revised, Picture Vocabulary subtest of the Test of Oral Language Development, Expressive One-Word Picture Vocabulary Test, and Receptive One-Word Picture Vocabulary Test. Only moderate correlations were found among these tests, implying that a…
