The Effects of Impromptu Speech Exercises on Reducing Trait and Situational Communication Apprehension.
Rumbough, Timothy B.
New Jersey Journal of Communication, v7 n2 p206-15 Fall 1999
Examines how the impromptu speech exercise affects trait and situational communication apprehension (CA). Uses McCroskey's Personal Report of Communication Apprehension to study trait CA and Clevenger's Speaker Anxiety Scale to measure situational CA. Indicates that subjects who completed the impromptu speech significantly lowered their situational CA, but that trait CA was not significantly lowered. (SC)
