An Analysis of Error Patterns of Disabled Readers at the Secondary Level.
Williamson, Ann Pollard
Forty-eight 15-year-olds diagnosed as learning disabled by school personnel were administered the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC) and the Woodcock Reading Mastery Test. Analysis of results indicated that there were significant correlations among subtests of the WISC, among subtests of the Woodcock Reading Mastery Test, and between subtests in the two batteries; that pupils categorized as high verbal did somewhat better in word identification, word comprehension, passage comprehension, and total reading scores; and that the total reading scores were significantly related to the discrepancy between Verbal IQ and Performance IQ on the WISC.
