This article analyzes characteristics of competition and cooperation, identifies associated benefits and risks, and examines ways in which each strategy can be used by library managers as part of a flexible communication style. Describes the Myers Briggs Personality Type Indicator and examines its use as a management tool for library administrators to build effective work teams.
