This revised Stark County (Ohio) curriculum guide provides a basic framework for a sequential grades K-12 social studies program. The guide contains the program's philosophy and goals, information about student evaluation, and position statements on social studies, citizenship education, and conceptual learning. The section on elementary education provides scope and sequence information for: (1) history, cultures, and civics; (2) geography; and (3) citizenship, along with specific subject and skill development outlines for each grade from K through 6. The scope and sequence of the k-8 "Ohio Model Economic Curriculum" is also included. A secondary education section offers an integrated social studies course content outline for teaching about Ohio and provides program and student objectives and content outlines for courses in geography, U.S. history, Western civilization, Eastern civilization, social psychology, sociology, and economics. Appendices include the Ohio state social studies requirements and a social studies skills matrix. Specific changes from the earlier edition are listed in the introduction. (JHP)
