Can We Talk about It?
Good, Richard D.
Principal Leadership, v4 n5 p48-51 Jan 2004
In this article, a youth officer explains how police partnerships with schools benefit educators and students. The article provides advice on how schools can establish effective relationships with their local police officers, situations when it is appropriate to share information and when it is not, knowing what questions cannot be asked and what questions must be asked during investigations of a complaint, and what is involved in forensic interviewing. Although it is not possible to know how to respond to everything a student may disclose, how educators respond can affect how authorities handle the information.
