Great Expectations: Arizona Teens Speak Up. Forum 411. Edition 1, Issue 4
Morrison Institute for Public Policy, Arizona State University
This fourth issue of Morrison Institute for Public Policy's "Forum 411" quarterly briefing series offers insights into Arizona's 600,000-plus adolescents from professionals who work with them every day and from teens themselves. Presented herein are the findings of a survey on what teens think about their lives and the major issues facing the nation today. Data is given on Arizona teens views on (1) their idea of a good life; (2) outlook on friends, parents, and the police; (3) why teens get in trouble with the law; (4) why teens drop out of school; (5) how best to improve their quality of education; (6) their outlook on religion; and (7) their stand on religion and national issues. The survey, completed by more than 900 teenagers across the state, offers a largely positive image of Arizona's adolescents. (Contains 3 footnotes.) [Support for "Forum 411" is provided by Westcor.]
