Freshman Decidedness Regarding Academic Major and Anticipated and Actual Adjustment to an Engineering College.
Plaud, Joseph P.; And Others
National Academic Advising Association Journal, v10 n2 p20-26 Fall 1990
A study at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (Massachusetts) found a positive relationship between freshman (n=262) decidedness regarding academic major and both anticipated adjustment (prematriculation) and actual adjustment (postmatriculation), more academically than socially. Comparison with another study suggests the relationship is stronger in engineering than liberal arts. (Author/MSE)
