Using Actors in Experiential Group Counseling Leadership Training
Fall, Kevin A.; Levitov, Justin E.
Journal for Specialists in Group Work, v27 n2 p122-135 Jun 2002
The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs and the Association for Specialists in Group Work standards of practice require programs to provide both experiential and didactic training in group leadership skills. This article discusses methods traditionally used to meet these standards and the practical and ethical problems inherent in each approach. The use of actors as clients in group leadership simulations is offered as a viable group leadership training alternative.
