Designed to assist the librarian and/or teacher by serving as a checklist for a basic collection of reference materials, this annotated bibliography presents a list of reference sources that are appropriate for Alabama students in grades 7 through 12. The reference materials are intended to support the curriculum of a comprehensive public secondary school that includes English, Spanish, French, mathematics, physical education, science, social studies, art, home economics, vocational education, general business, and music. Bibliographic information, including author, title, publisher, and International Standard Book Number (ISBN), as well as a brief description, are provided for 130 reference sources listed under the following headings: (1) Atlases; (2) Dictionaries; (3) Encyclopedias; (4) General Library Indexes; (5) History; (6) Literature; (7) Science; and (8) Miscellaneous.
