Information Literacy Standards and Library Instruction
Johnson, Wendell G.
Community & Junior College Libraries, v13 n1 p25-35 2004
A program of library instruction, oriented towards the Outcomes attached to the ACRL's Competency Standards One and Two, assists community college students towards information literacy. Online resources and the World Wide Web provide integral components of this program. Library instruction alone cannot fulfill all of the Standards, however. Information literacy demands the cooperation of the host institution, faculty, library, and the students themselves. This cooperation further yields data the community college can use for accreditation and assessment purposes. (Contains 5 notes.)
