More H.E.L.P.: How To Enjoy Living with a Preadolescent.
Baenen, Judith
Noting that early adolescence is a time of tremendous growth and change for both youth and their families, this booklet, the second in a series prepared for parents/guardians of children ages 10-15, is intended to help parents adapt to these changes. The booklet describes typical behavior of preadolescents and offers advice to parents on responding appropriately. Topics covered in this booklet include: (1) there is no "normal"; (2) preadolescents' tendency to deny; (3) their need for privacy; (4) their learning to accept consequences; and (5) their blossoming idealism.
