A Curriculum Guide for Cardiovascular Technologist. Final Report.
Wojdylak, Michael A.; Filippelli, Anthony J.
This curriculum guide was developed as a result of a project conducted in Pennsylvania to review, update, and revise the vocational-technical curriculum for cardiovascular technologists. The guide is organized in five sections. The first section describes the project, while the second section lists the minimum essentials for a cardiovascular technology program according to the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA). In the third section, the CAHEA essentials are applied to a proposed cardiovascular technology program. This section contains the proposed two-year curriculum, core course descriptions, cardiovascular technician course descriptions, core course objectives, cardiovascular course objectives for anatomy and physiology, pathology, pharmacology, instrumentation, and cardiovascular practicum. The fourth section contains clinical checklists for evaluation of student performance of technical skills. The fifth section is a bibliography. (KC)
