Describes a study done by Herbert White that resulted in rankings of library and information science programs based on perceptual assessments by faculty and library directors. Library schools were surveyed for 1982-85 data on course offerings, enrollment, faculty characteristics, and continuing education programs in children's and young adult services to determine if there has been actual deterioration.
