Norvilitis, Jill M., Ed. – InTech, 2012
With many children and adults affected by Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, researchers strive to understand the underpinnings of ADHD and associated factors on both a basic and applied level. The goal of this volume is to explore some of the broad array of research in the field of ADHD. The 12 chapters cover a variety of topics as varied…

LeClair, David A.; And Others – American Journal on Mental Retardation, 1993
A task involving movements with either hand to near or far targets was employed with 16 adults with mental retardation (9 of whom had Down's syndrome). Specific features of the movement were precued. Both groups were able to use advance information to reduce movement preparation time and were not limited by a fixed-order movement preparation…

Ivry, Richard B. – 1985
Three experiments assess the effects of variations of force and time on response latency on both simple and choice reaction time. The first two experiments demonstrate that, while latency does not vary as a function of force, increasing timing demands, by requiring that a response be maintained, led to increases in reaction time. These results led…

Watson, Ben C.; And Others – Journal of Speech and Hearing Research, 1992
This study sought to identify patterns of impaired acoustic laryngeal reaction time as a function of response complexity parallel to metabolic measures of brain function. Findings indicated that the disruption in speech motor control for 16 adult male developmental stutterers was systematically related to metabolic asymmetry in left superior and…

Macar, Francoise; Grondin, Simon – Journal of Experimental Child Psychology, 1988
Examines interactions between timing accuracy and muscular parameters in children aged five who performed a visuomotor game. Five images were successively presented on a television display at precisely timed intervals for a total period of 11 seconds. Results suggest that timing accuracy is dependent on action-produced sensory cues. (RWB)
