Effects of Time Gating and Word Length on Isolated Word-Recognition Performance.
Craig, Chie H.; Kim, Byoung W.
Journal of Speech and Hearing Research, v33 n4 p808-15 Dec 1990
The study examined the effects of forward time gating (in which incremented portions of a word are presented) and word length on monosyllabic isolated word-recognition performance with 20 female college undergraduates. Listeners recognized time-gated words less frequently and with less confidence, and word length significantly influenced recognition performance. (Author/DB)
