The third edition of a New Jersey inventory of degree programs and options available within the state is presented. It includes two types of program offerings: (1) full programs which terminate in formal awards conferred by colleges and universities and (2) options/concentrations for study within programs. It is a compendium of the numerous subjects that can be studied leading to a degree or award from New Jersey colleges and universities. Programs at all schools that submit reports on degrees and awards conferred are included. All programs and options are approved for veteran training. The inventory is generated from a computer file that is updated annually. All programs and options listed are assigned a six-digit code chosen from "The Classification of Instructional Programs" manual of the Center for Education Statistics, U.S. Department of Education. The inventory is organized into three sections: (1) six reference tables defining various classification systems used to characterize programs and options which are offered in New Jersey institutions of higher education; (2) the inventory of degree programs and options organized by institution; and (3) the inventory of degree programs and options organized by major field of study.
