This document contains the Illinois state-verified task lists for the occupation of homemaker. The first section contains the homemaker duties and tasks. Duties correspond to course content in foods and nutrition, clothing and textiles, child development, resource management, parenting, living environments, and adult living. The second section lists the employability skills that should be acquired by homemakers through home economics courses in homemaking. Skills are listed under the following duties: identifying employment opportunities, applying employment-seeking skills, interpreting employment capabilities, demonstrating appropriate work behavior, maintaining a safe and healthy environment, maintaining a business-like image, maintaining working relationships, communicating on the job, adapting to change, understanding how a business works, and performing mathematical skills.
