Lightfoot, Douglas
Unterrichtspraxis/Teaching German, v40 n1 p34-45 Spr 2007
This article presents information about the history of the German language and makes pertinent suggestions for teaching German as a Foreign Language. The reasoning for such an approach is presented, along with supportive new empirical data and a related professional directive. A selected survey of historical, explanatory points from the literature is briefly illustrated, followed by further, more descriptive points that instructors may use.
