This final report of the University of Wyoming's Collection Analysis Project, which was undertaken to analyze strengths and weaknesses of the library's existing collection development program, presents recommendations on several facets of the collection development process. These recommendations cover: (1) organizational placement of the collection development function; (2) assignment and division of duties among collection development personnel; (3) monitoring of university instructional and research trends; (4) allocation of resources for maximum effectiveness; (5) formalizing of processes for writing and ratifying collection development policies; (6) institution of an ongoing program of collection analysis; (7) improvement of resource sharing activities; and (8) institution of a formal program for preservation of library resources.
