Results were quite similar for each of the factor analytic procedures, an indication of a strong underlying structure of the WPPSI tests. Data from 255 normal individuals were factor analyzed. Variables included subtests from the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-Revised (WAIS-R), the Kaufman Adolescent and Adult Intelligence Test (KAIT), and two new brief measures. Results are interpreted in the context of previous Horn analyses of the KAIT and WAIS-R. (SLD)

The factor structure in this study was remarkably consistent across the age range, with three factors emerging for each group: Verbal Comprehension, Perceptual Organization, and Freedom from Distractibility. The results of the study are discussed in terms of their clinical applications, particularly interpretation of WISC-R profiles. (Author)

Learning Disabled children (N=198) were tested on both the WISC-R (Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised) and K-ABC (Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children). Joint factor analysis produced three-factor and four-factor solutions. Factors corresponding to three K-ABC scales generally converged with three WISC-R factors. (Author/CL)

The Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children was administered to 80 retarded youngsters from ages 6 to 16 years. The factors found for the retarded children are similar to those found for normal children. Factor-analyzed data are reported from the Kaufman Adolescent and Adult Intelligence Test for 1,535 whites, 226 African Americans, and 140 Hispanics.
