Physical Development: Exploring Physical Development through Dramatic Play
Strickland, Eric
Early Childhood Today, v19 n3 p9-10 Nov-Dec 2004
There are several benefits in engaging children in dramatic plays. Aside from the motor skills involved in performing in a play, children are provided with opportunities in building their physical development. In addition, children can also enhance their language, social, and emotional development when they participate in dramatic plays. In this article, the author suggests several strategies for teachers on how to take advantage of their school's dramatic play center as a place for children to build their coordination, balance, and control.
