Wang, Jia; Ruona, Wendy E. A.
Online Submission, Paper presented at the Academy of Human Resource Development International Conference (AHRD) (Austin, TX, Mar 3-7, 2004) p447-454 (Symp. 22-1)
In the context of on-going economic reforms in the People's Republic of China, the paucity of management resources is widely recognized as a major obstacle to the country's endeavor toward modernization. This review of the literature explores pressing issues facing Chinese managers and current solutions being provided at the national, organizational and individual levels. Implications for management development are drawn and specific directions for future HRD research are presented. [For complete proceedings, see ED491481.]
