This syllabus, which is the second of a two-volume set describing the basic competencies needed by entry-level workers in the field of electronics, deals with the competencies needed in five different electrical occupations. Competencies are organized according to the following occupational areas: electronic assembly, telephone repair and installation, security alarm installation, videocassette recorder repair and maintenance, and cable television installation. A chapter on general electrical safety competencies is also provided. Each page in the syllabus presents a competency statement that is defined by an indicator, a performance objective, a benchmark, and one or more specific observable tasks or behaviors to be used as more assessment criteria.
