Learning-teaching philosophies basic to open education are presented, and classroom processes which grow out of these philosophies are described in this booklet. Contents include a summary of the Environmental Studies Project in North Carolina and discussions of several aspects of open education (including interpersonal relationships, individual attention, teacher roles, student interests, learning groups, learning designed by students, freedom in choosing, learning styles, creativity, community resources, inactivity, sharing, and evaluation).
