The Impact of Ethical Leadership and Perceived Organizational Support on Title IX Coordinators' Job Satisfaction
Grace Nickels
ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, Louisiana State University in Shreveport
The purpose of this correlational, quantitative research study was to examine Title IX coordinators' perceived organizational support and job satisfaction based on their perceptions of their immediate supervisor's ethical leadership behaviors. Additionally, the study examined the moderation effect of perceived organizational support on the relationship between ethical leadership and job satisfaction. The sample (n = 88) for the current study consisted of Title IX coordinators at public and private four-year colleges and universities in the United States. The Ethical Leadership Scale (ELS), Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ) short-form, Survey of Perceived Organizational Support (SPOS), and a brief demographic survey, developed by the researcher, assessed the perceptions and characteristics of Title IX coordinators. Multiple linear regression indicated a positive relationship between each of the variables. However, hierarchical multiple regression indicated that perceived organizational support was not a significant moderator of ethical leadership and job satisfaction among Title IX coordinators. While Title IX coordinators' perceptions of ethical leadership and organizational support separately predicted job satisfaction, perceived organizational support did not impact the strength of the relationship between ethical leadership and job satisfaction.
