San Francisco Bay Area Environmental Education Needs Study.
Fish, Duane
To identify environmental technician positions in the public and private sectors of the San Francisco Bay Area as well as to determine the skills and knowledge necessary for employment in the field, questionnaires were distributed to companies, agencies, individuals of the private sector in the area, and 33 institutions offering an Occupational Curriculum in Environmental Education. Findings derived from the data include: (1) At present, there exists no immediate employment placement locally for 2-year trained environmental technicians, therefore it would not be feasible to institute such a program in this vicinity, and (2) The environmental technology topics most often offered were Introduction to Environmental Technology, Disease Prevention Technology, Pollution Prevention and Control Technology, Resources Conservation Technology, and miscellaneous courses.
