Psychological Effects of Early versus Late Referral to the Vocational Rehabilitation Process: The Case of Mexican Origin Industrially Injured Workers.
Fierro, Robert J.; Leal, Anita
Journal of Applied Rehabilitation Counseling, v19 n4 p35-39 Win 1988
Sixty industrially injured workers of Mexican origin were examined to determine the psychological effects of early versus late referral to the California workers' compensation vocational rehabilitation system. Depression and dependency scores were significantly lower and self-esteem scores were higher for the early referral group compared to the late referral group. (Author/JDD)
