Difficulties Experienced by Education and Sociology Students in Quantitative Methods Courses.
Murtonen, Mari; Lehtinen, Erno
Studies in Higher Education, v28 n2 p171-85 May 2003
Examined difficulties Finnish university students experienced in learning quantitative methods. Education and sociology students rated different topics on the basis of their difficulty. Overall, students considered statistics and quantitative methods more difficult than other domains. They tended to polarize academic subjects into "easier" language, major, and qualitative subjects, and "harder" mathematical, statistical, and quantitative subjects. (SM)
