School Psychology in the Time of COVID-19: Voices from the Field
Lazarus, Phillip J.; Sulkowski, Michael L.
Communique, v48 n8 p1, 23-25 Jun 2020
School psychologists, especially those on the front lines, are working under difficult conditions, dealing with new mandates and procedures, and often without the essential tools necessary to do their jobs optimally. Surmounting obstacles associated with COVID-19 will require school psychologists to develop new ways to provide essential services. This article reaches out to the authors' colleagues and asked them how they were managing new or different responsibilities, maintaining social connections, and managing self-care while supporting others through these uncertain times. Contributors include individuals in the following roles: a graduate student in a school psychology program, an early career professional, a seasoned practitioner, a supervisor of school psychological services, and a trainer of school psychology students
