This document presents standards for the state of Missouri for the certification of teachers in all teaching fields. The standards are applicable for teachers in (1) elementary education, (2) secondary education, (3) early childhood-special education, (4) education of trainable and severely handicapped students, (5) clinicians in speech and language, (6) education of the deaf and/or hard of hearing, (7) educable mentally retarded, (8) orthopedically handicapped, (9) blind and/or partially sighted, (10) remedial reading, (11) behaviorally disordered and/or emotionally disturbed; (12) health education, (13) school psychological examiner, (14) secondary counseling, (15) elementary counseling, (16) administrator certification (elementary or secondary school principals, superintendent), (17) driver education, (18) nonteaching elementary principal, (19) instructional media technologist, (20) school librarian, (21) physical education.
