Reviews the historical development of the "Ozegov" dictionary. This dictionary blazed a trail in describing the structure and lexicon of modern standard Russian and played a key role in completing the standardization of Russian. The 1992 edition has progressed in coping with changes in the lexicon of Russia brought about by political, social, and technological advances. (CK)
