Paz, Jennica; Kim, Eui Kyung; Dowdy, Erin; Furlong, Michael J.; Hinton, Tameisha; Piqueras, José A.; Rodríguez-Jiménez, Tíscar; Marzo, Juan C.; Coates, Susan – Grantee Submission, 2020
The assessment of psychosocial strengths in children and adolescents has predominately focused on the measurement of single traits and constructs, such as grit (Christopoulou, Lakioti, Pezirkianidis, Karakasidou, & Stalikas, 2018), optimism (Oberle, Guhn, Gadermann, Thomson, & Schonert-Reichl, 2018), hope (Pedrotti, 2018), and gratitude…

Ferrando, Pere J.; Lorenzo-Seva, Urbano – Multivariate Behavioral Research, 2007
This article describes a model for response times that is proposed as a supplement to the usual factor-analytic model for responses to graded or more continuous typical-response items. The use of the proposed model together with the factor model provides additional information about the respondent and can potentially increase the accuracy of the…

Ferrando, Pere J.; Lorenzo, Urbano; Molina, Gabriel – Applied Psychological Measurement, 2001
Developed an item response theory model of response stability based on the local independence principle. Tested the model, which predicts response changes under repeated administrations of the same instrument, with real data for 432 Spanish undergraduates. Results indicate that the model predictions are approximately fulfilled. (SLD)

Ferrando, Pere Joan – Applied Psychological Measurement, 1999
Examined the performance of three item-response models applied to data collected from a conventionally developed Likert-type personality scale administered to 657 Spanish undergraduates. Models' response assumptions were reasonably tenable, and the solutions obtained for the continuous, censored, and graded-response models were similar. (SLD)

Langa Rosado, Delia; David, Miriam E. – Journal of Education Policy, 2006
This paper discusses whether the massification of higher education (HE) in the majority of developed countries over the last few decades has led to changes in the form of involvement in universities for the masses, or massive universities for the expanding middle classes. Situating our argument with the evidence of massive expansion of HE in…
