Early Childhood Pre-Service Teachers' Response to Mobile Technology: Creative Projects, Analysis, and Reflection on Learning Experiences

The level of interest in mobile technology for teaching and learning was analyzed according to the responses of 70 pre-teachers. Some pre-teachers (27%) were interested enough to find out what teaching with mobile devices involved. (Level One Engagement). The same students (27%) attended an informative workshop about the new methodology and discussed possible available applications (apps) for teaching (Level Two Engagement). Some pre-teachers (7%) went as far as to plan a lesson that they would use in a classroom using mobile devices (Level Three Engagement). The last few (4%) of the pre-teachers actually tried out the lesson that they planned using the apps and the devices (Level Four Engagement).
